Second concert as part of the official programme for “Madajazzcar 2024”. The gig was produced by the Malagzy ALLIANCE FRANCAISE. This double billing took place in the most iconic colonial venue in Tananarive. Le Café de la Gare is next to the old Train Central Station in Antananarivo and oozes a retro-chic 3àies to 50ies era when the “Red Island” was still a part of France in the Indian Ocean. A time when steam train travel could take you from the Capital to all regional coastal towns.
But most importantly, this concert made us discover the amazing Sandrine RAJAOFETRA and her band “Mad in Voyage”, which is arguably the very best band of musicians we have ever met in our part of the world. Tight, professional and with a musical mastery that we had only seen in the UK and America before. It was an honour to share the stage with them and perform two duets together.
